I count that as a win.If you are a beginner, read the manual sequentially, move on to the next block when mastering the previous one. TL DR: First time fighting the reavers and most of the damage came from their flaming corpses. Either way hopefully I should be able to take them out at greater range so their debris doesn’t scuff my paint anymore. I decided to up my game a bit defensively and built a defensive outpost covered in heavy armor, up and away a little from my main base (but still part of the same grid) and put two more 30mm auto cannon turrets and two assault turrets just in case the reavers decide to mess around. After that it was like a slow stream of reavers for the next few hours as one after another they came in and got blasted apart. Next thing I knew it was raining reaver all over my base and I punched a hole right through the center of my constructor ship. I immediately landed my constructor, grabbed an assault rifle, and went to the control seat for the station just in time to see all my weapons start tearing the reaver apart.

Some time passed and I started building up to make my first space capable mining ship, I just finished my constructor ship, and I was about to build a large landing pad when it happened: the reavers were coming. So I built one 30mm auto cannon turret (I really like the warfare expansion mod) with a good field of fire to defend my base.

After a while with no reaver attacks I thought I should install some anti-ship weapons because I wasn’t sure if reavers would come find me or if they might follow me back once I hop into space. I set up a couple Goalpost CIWS (from the warfare II expansion mod) to protect my base from the meteors and some oerlikons (same mod) to protect my solar panels and wind turbines. I built my base into the side of a hill so I could easily bury my more sensitive infrastructure like hydrogen tanks since I set the safety to “normal” so there would be meteor showers. I started a survival game my usual way, in the star system starting off on Triton so I could have plentiful hydrogen.

So I’ve been seeing a lot of people posting about the reavers on here lately and I thought “you know the vanilla pirates aren’t that tough maybe I could use a challenge” so I got the mod so there would be reavers in the game.
